Message from the Hinsdale Police Dept:
During the week of May 7th, we collected traffic speed data for County Line Road at Woodland, using same site location as we did when I first collected benchmark data in the fall. I’m pleased to report the “85th percentile speed” has been reduced for southbound traffic from 34.9mph to 31.3mph (-3.6mph).
This may not mean too much to you, but from a traffic engineering/statistical outcome, its huge! This basically means that 85% of the vehicles are driving at 31.3mph or less now; whereas, the initial speed tests showed that speed to be 34.9.
Great implementation here!! Please share the news with PTO membership.
