Oak School will be recognizing and celebrating Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week on May 8-12th according to the PTA.org and NEA.org websites. There are 2 exciting opportunities for parents to volunteer to help make our Oak staff feel appreciated.
This year we decided to add a personal touch to Staff Appreciation Week by offering a potluck lunch to our teachers on Friday, May 12th. Please use the sign up genius link to sign up for a dish that you can provide to honor our teachers and staff. You are welcome to stay for the lunch but are not required. Dishes will need to be dropped off by 10:30 so that support staff can begin their lunch at 10:45.
Another opportunity to volunteer that doesn’t cost anything except your time is lunchroom duty. Let’s give our support staff a break from lunch supervision for just one day out of the entire school year! The district has approved letting parents come and fill in. Please consider helping watch the lunchroom only (not recess) on Wednesday, May 10th. Not only would the support staff genuinely appreciate your time, but as an added bonus you also get to see your precious child and their classmates have lunch together! We will need 4 parents for each lunch time for this to work. Click on the sign up genius to volunteer. I already have one eager committed parent signing up for both lunch periods!! Please note that parents cannot bring younger siblings to this event.
