Walk to School Day

Oak School is looking forward to Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 4th!
All students and parents are encouraged to walk or bike to school. Once at school, everyone (parents too!) will gather around the flagpole for the annual ceremony led by principal Dr. Martha Henrickson. At the ceremony, Hootie, the Oak School Owl, will depart for his annual world journey. Students will earn miles to get Hootie to a secret destination (revealed at the ceremony) by continuing to walk to school and stay active throughout the year. Speakers will talk about safety and staying active, crossing guards will be honored, and the PTO will give fun facts related to Hootie’s destination. It’s a fun morning that the students look forward to each year. Mark your calendars!
